A monumental hand theatrically touches a stage like architecture with sensitivity as the star of the show in seduction of power. This celebration of twisted complex contradiction takes feminist sensibilities in an aggressive act to resituate power. Using my body as a site to perform gender, my work continues a history of activism to break exhausting stereotypes of patriarchy. Influenced by drag and theater, I draw from personal experiences of misogyny to replay absurd yet real scenarios in order to confront and flip dominance. Using video, sculpture, performance, installation and photography the work contrasts soft and aggressive gestures with image sound distortions to combine messy vulgarity and glam.
