I am a senior studio art major with a concentration in photography. However, I have recently begun working heavily within film and video. Improvisation and chance inspire my photography, which allows me to work in a documentary style. Street photography attracts my attention because of the unpredictability of the people I photograph and the environments in which I make the photographs. I use improvisation and collaboration in my video work as well, allowing me to evoke a more meaningful performance from the performer with which I work. Themes and comments to which I return include a loss of creativity, alienation and regret, sexual inequalities, and a lack of communication. My style and the themes that surround it are constantly changing due to my improvisational process which will allow me to continue to create unique and meaningful art.
